ATLANTA — MLS Cup 2018 is just a day away. On Saturday, Atlanta United hosts the Portland Timbers in the big final at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It’s the Eastern and Western Conference champs in a winner-take-all battle in front of another packed house.

Diego Valeri, M: Valeri scored a second half brace to lead the Timbers to a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City in the second leg of the Western Conference Championship series. Valeri now has four goals and two assists in five starts during the 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs. No other Timbers player has ever scored more than three goals in an MLS postseason campaign. Valeri has six goals and seven assists in four career playoff runs with the Timbers. He famously scored a goal 27 seconds in to the 2015 MLS Cup to help lead the Timbers to victory over the Columbus Crew.

Sebastian Blanco, M: Blanco scored the game-tying goal off a fabulous shot from distance to lead the Timbers to a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City in the second leg of the Western Conference Championship series. Blanco has come up big for the Timbers time and again this year. He has three goals in the postseason so far, including a massive goal against the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference semifinals. Blanco recorded 10 goals and 11 assists during the regular season.
